This is another personal project. I really love the leather notepad portfolios from Saddleback Leather Co. and I own two them; a small (5×7″) and medium (8-1/2×11″) in tobacco. They usually end up overstuffed with receipts and notes, so I modified my small notepad holder with an up-cycled Army surplus leather bed roll strap and a brass machine tag from a mining company. The embellishments are attached with hand-hammered copper rivets.
The small notepad cover has developed a nice patina over time, and the strap was treated with Neatsfoot oil. The full grain leather continues to get softer and more beautiful.
