In June 2015 I bought my first Saddleback Leather Co. bag; a Messenger Bag in a lovely tobacco color. After years of using backpacks, it took a while to get accustomed to the weight and feature differences. The biggest adjustment for me was having only 2 internal pockets in the messenger bag. I solved this issue by taking various SBL device sleeves and mounting them directly to the vertical divider using Chicago screws, copper rivets & burrs. The finishing touch was to add two up-cycled brass tags from a closed mining operation and paint company.
With these modifications I have a dedicated spot for an iPad or Kindle, a Microsoft Arc Mouse, charging cables, and some cards. The factory internal pockets are now where I store pens, a lock pick set, and my phone.
